1) This league is based on the Human vs CPU Format (Non-Modem). The league includes all original NBA players and will begin play around beginning of February. We will use the player ratings from the NBA Live Series Centre's latest rosters.
We will play 2 games a
week !
Settings are as follows: 8
Min. Quarters, Fouls set to full, Superstar level, Inbound clock on, half-court clock on,
fatigue on, foul out on and set to 6,
all other options are to be set to full. Momentum set to on and CPU assist off! Shot
control has to be set to player!!!
You must take a screenshot of the final results screen that
comes up after the game ends. You must also send in you're teams stat file. Save the stat
file, and your screenshot, and name both the same. Here is an example of how to name them:
spursvsknicks- vs if you are the home team.
spurs@knicks- @ if you are the away team.
Your team name is to be first always!
Use the F12 key to take the screenshots. Then zip them up using winzip (downloadable here) and email them to dcl@gmx.at
NOTE: Please use a graphics programm to change the screenshots file format from *.tga to *.jpg (Microsoft Photo Editor is a standard Windows-Programm which does the job perfectly) - this will reduce the file size from about 600kB to about 40kB, making the e-mails smaller (otherwise our mailbox might be full quite quickly and it'll take you rather long to send the mail!!!!)
Stats & Screenshots must be sent by Saturday 2.00 pm (14:00) GMT.
Any editing to stat files will not be accepted and severly punished!!!! We basically go by the honor system here. Honesty is the key. If the league has reason to believe you have been cheating you will first be warned, then removed from league, unless it is a direct violation of league policies. In that case you will be removed from the league immediately.
This is a really important issue, and many GMs seem
concerned that this might not work out fine. Of course everyone could play their games
again and again until they earn blowout victories, but this is something we disapprove
strongly. The main goal of this league should not be winning (well of course it is) but
having the chance to compete against people from around the world (and bet them in a fair
way!!!!!!). So please bear those rules in mind when the league gets started. We would
appreciate your support on this topic.
2) Trading: Both teams have to come to an agreement on the
trade and both teams must email the trade to your Commissioners
with players first and last names and both teams involved. Trades will be made effective
in the next weeks roster patch. The trade deadline will be determined later!! The
Commissioners have the right to turn down or not approve any trade that is deemed unfair
to a owner.
3) The Free Agent signing system: The free agents signings will be first come first serve.
Signings can be sent in anytime and will take effect in the next weeks rosters (new
rosters will be available every sunday). If needed include the name of the player that
must be droped from the team so the new player can be added (maximum 15 players on your
roster !!!). All roster lineup changes need to be sent in asap. Send roster lineup changes
and releases to your Commissioners, if not received the computer makes your lineup.
Michael Jordan,Mark Price, Joe Dumars, Charles Barkley and other retired players cannot be
signed. Free agent signings will begin immediately after the Draft.
4) This is how the league results are compiled. For example: Knicks @ Spurs. The Knicks GM
plays the CPU controlled Spurs, with the Spurs playing as the home team; the Spurs owner
plays the CPU controlled Knicks, with the Spurs playing as the home team as well. Both
send in the screenshot and stats, and we will add both scores. So, if the Knicks GM wins
60-50, and the Spurs GM wins 70-65, the final score will be Knicks 125 - Spurs 120, giving
the Knicks the win. In case of a tie, the home team will take the win!!!!!
This way you can even get the victory if you fall to the PC (given the other GM loses with
a greater margin). If you do not send in your results
your opponent gets the win by all means !!!!! If both GMs do not send in,
we'll simulate the game. Should you tell us your reason for not sending in your
files prior to the week of play (e.g. holidays,....), you are permitted to send it in
later (2 weeks maximum).
Attention: When you play the PC, and the score is tied after 4 quarters, do NOT play the overtime period. Take the screenshot from the score after 4 quarters, print the stats and send it in!!!!!!!
If you fail to turn in up to 4 games, you will be removed
from the league. You will recieve a warning after the 1st time. Also no editing to the
roster ratings are to be made. This is a major violation of league policy, and will be
warned only once, then the violator will be removed.
5) Stats; We will do player stats, we will keep track of points per game, rebounds per
game, etc. The leaders section should look some what like this.
1. Allen Iverson 29.8
2. Kevin Garnett 28.6 ...........
and so on for all the categories.
MVP,ROY,all DCL 1st team and 2nd team, all defensive team, and all rookie teams will be
voted on. We will post a voting section, and you submit your choice for mvp, and so on.
6) An All-Star game will also be voted on and played on the half way point of the season, by all GMs of the DCL!!!! All Western Conference GMs will use the Western Conference All-Stars to play against the Eastern Conference All-Stars on their PCs, the Eastern Conference GMs will do the same vice versa. Everybody will send in the screenshots and stats, we will add the final scores and divide them by the number of GMs of the particular conference. This will give us an overall final score and the winner of the DCL All-Star game. Your Commissioners will also determine an All-Star game MVP. For more news, check out the upcoming All-Star page!!!!!
7) The season should be 10 weeks long with 2 games a week for each team. If two teams have the same record at the end of the season, the head-to-head result will decide who will be the higher seed.
8) Playoffs: best of 3 for all rounds; same rules as for
regular season games. The team marked with an asteriks in the Playoff Tree has homecourt
advantage in games 1 and 3, the other team has homecourt advantage in game 2
All three games have to be played and sent in together, with
additional info in the filename:
"Lakers vs Charlotte - Game X" for the screenshot _and_ the stats file!!!!!!
Any questions should be asked as soon as possible.
